Panasonic unveils Nano Bass Exciter

Panasonic has made available its Nano Bass Exciter method that manages to squeeze out high-fidelity bass notes from a pair of compact speakers. This is made possible by using porous carbon within the speaker enclosure, creating an acoustic environment that is conducive to create rich, low-end sound. Should the Nano Bass Exciter technology actually catch on, we will soon see cellphones that are able to hold their own against boomboxes, but that would definitely be a bad thing as it will probably startle everyone around you (including yourself) whenever you receive a text message or an incoming call.

Panasonic HDC-SD5 goes Hi-Def

Panasonic has taken the High Definition route by unveiling the HDC-SD5 video camcorder that will fit in nicely into your HD lifestyle back home. Capable of using the AVCHD format to record full HD video with 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution, the HDC-SD5 utilizes Panasonic’s very own 3CCD camera system. Other features include a professional broadcast feature for razor sharp images and vivid color, Advanced Optical Image Stabilizer to minimize the detrimental effects of the jitters when recording, and compatibility with SD/SDHC memory cards. An 8GB SDHC memory card is capable of holding up to 180 minutes of video in full HD - I just hope the battery life is capable of lasting the pace when you capture the detail of every pimple in your family portrait. The Panasonic HDC-SD5 will retail for $999.95 when available.

Panasonic releases two new cameras

Panasonic rolls out a couple of digital cameras in the form of the DMC-FX33 and the DMC-FX55. Both of these models share many similarities in terms of features, ranging from the 8.1 megapixel resolution to the anti-blurring filter, while utilizing the same 28mm lens and 3.6x optical zoom. It can recognize up to 15 faces at a time with each shot, and size seems to be the separating factor between both cameras. The FX33 is the slimmer version, sacrificing the size of its LCD display in order to end up smaller. While pink and silver colors are available for either cameras, the FX33 will also come in white, but the FX55 ditches that for black. There is no word on pricing details but both cameras ought to hit retail stores on August 25th.
